volunteers
We have about 20 volunteers involved from churches in Hertford and Ware, and they play an
integral role in the work of FutureHope.
Each volunteer has been trained, interviewed and CRB checked and normally works on the
FutureHope bus twice a month. We have a really enthusiastic team who do a brilliant job
manning the coffeebar, welcoming young people on the door, building relationships and
offering support when somebody is going through a difficult time and needs some info and
advice, or simply wants to offload.
Some of our volunteers get involved in one-2-one work with young people who would like
some extra support. This may take the form of mentoring for up to a year or a fixed number
of focussed sessions for young people who want to work through a specific issue.

He founded FUTUREHOPE in April 2003 starting by doing detached youthwork.

College and joined us in Sept 08. She recently completed a 1 year counselling course and
previously spent time doing youth work in Germany and the UK.
Roger Bastable has been our FUTUREHOPE Chairman since September 2006. A retired

affect home and family.

management board
Our management board includes people with professional experience in the drug and alcohol
field, mental health, youth work, health care and the charity sector, and some have
experience of fostering and adoption. Each person is part of a local church and their
input is invaluable, ensuring FutureHope continues to offer a high quality service.
