"The Real Life 10 step program turned out to be the hardest challenge of my life so far. Diving deeper into who I am, why I am and my past was a hard thing to do. I brought up a lot of stuff from my past I had conveniently forgotten about, but the pain was definitely worth it, as I look back now. It was the first time anyone had taken the time out to listen to my issues and to be willing to help me sort them out." - 16 year old girl

"I knew the bus was a safe place and that I would be safe here...so that's why I came back"

This was what one girl said as she returned to the bus late one Friday night. She was very drunk and clearly distressed so 2 of the female team members escorted her to the one-to-one room. They stayed with her to help her calm down and then we made sure she got home safely.

out and about
"I met Mark through detached youth work on the streets of Hertford Friday nights about 5 years ago and have been getting support and help from FutureHope for over 3 years now. The guys and girls who work for FutureHope, every single one of them, are a blessing. They have done so much for me, like helping me with many issues such as getting off drugs (along with the help I received from an NHS rehabilitation unit). They would meet up with me and I could chat about anything, about things most people would not like to talk about." - Young man, aged 20
